How to guarantee the architecture, requirements and solutions through the forming of self-organising teams - an Agile Principle

Response

The principle is:

The best architecture, requirements and solutions are emerging from SELF-ORGANISING TEAMS.

An ever increasingly complex, competitive and volatile business environment requires those with the greatest know-how to be empowered to take decisions.

For Agile Teams to be successful and therefore, become self-organising they must consists of the necessary competencies (skills) to retain ownership of the entire life cycle (for example, design, analysis, construction, validation and release). They must also receive clear, timely and unambiguous goals from leadership and business owners

The goals they receive from leadership (i.e. the What is required), and given the freedom and authority to apply their unique skills and know-how to take decisions about all aspects of their work. In particular, to determine the How. The progress of the Agile Team is greatly influenced by the level of autonomy the Agile Team experiences. Therefore, when defining the Agile Team’s objectives and key results the design of the offering should be one that limits the dependancies of other external parties, for example, other Agile Teams, partners and suppliers.
