No control of costs or a defined budget

Response

Agile Teams are subject to the same amount of financial scrutiny as traditional projects. It may seen as though there is less as a result of the nature in which budgets are defined, allocated and monitored. Agile Teams typically consists of stable long-term members, which are initially budgeted for at the beginning and as long as the structure of the Agile Team remains unchanged, or is subject to little change, there is very little need for detailed-repeat financial appraisal. A growing number of Agile organisation are adopting a quarterly business review cycle, which inspects both the delivery and cost of the Agile Team’s performance on a quarterly basis to provide some formal and regular mechanism. However, this quarterly activities also serves as an opportunity to assess the opportunities and threads that maybe posed by emerging internal or external factors.
