How to build agility into your project through continuous attention of technical excellence - an Agile Principle

Response

The principle is:

The continuous attention to TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE and good design is enhancing agility.

The investment an agile team makes in the initial technical design of their offering, whether a software or IT project, a business process or service will ensure any future limitations or risks are identified and addressed as early as possible in the life cycle of the project.

A solid foundation will not only ensure rigidity and consistency of the overall architecture, it will allow individual features to be introduced late in the project cycle without destabilising the overall offering. This interchangeability or extensibility provides the agile team with options as the offering grows and becomes more complex.
