How to increase efficiency through establishing regular intervals to reflect its performs - an Agile Principle

Response

The principle is:

At REGULAR INTERVALS the team reflects on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts its behaviour accordingly.

The information that enables the agile team to adjust its approach is sourced from a number places. The principle sources are direct and timely feedback from their stakeholders at the end of an iteration and the subsequent retrospective session.

Both ceremonies promote transparency and a timely review of the Agile Teams current performance, both ways of working and work-product. Some performance improvement measures remain with the Agile Team, for example changes to the product backlog, whilst others, will require ownership to be passed to others throughout the organisation, including, business sponsors, administration and quality assurance.

Reflecting on their performance isn’t confined to identifying and correcting performance challenges. Mature Agile organisations and their teams invest as much effort identifying and sharing best practices.

The ability to efficiently convert unstructured agile team experience into structure organisational knowledge requires the development of a knowledge management strategy, which brings together IT solutions, best practices processes and the forming on of number of centre of excellences and communities of practice.
